| Tavern Pilaf |
Ingredients
3 glasses water
2 teaspoon salt
2 glasses bulgur
2 large-size onion
1 glass ground meat
6 tablespoon margarine
7 medium-size green pepper
2 tablespoon tomato paste
4 medium-size tomatoes
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon allspice
Cooking Instructions
First sautee ground meat and chopped onions in margarine for twenty minutes, in a covered saucepan; drain: Remove stems and seeds of peppers. Cut into 0.5 cm thick rings. Add to meat; stir. Saute for two minutes. Blend in tomato paste; blend well. Cut tomatoes into one cm cubes. Stir in ground meat. Cover and simmer for four minutes. Add hot water and salt. Bring to boil. Stir in bulgur; blend well. Cover and cook over low heat for twenty minutes; drain. Season with spices. Remove from heat. Let stand covered for twenty minutes before. Serve hot.
