| Walnut Pound Cake |
Ingredients
1/2 glass Shortening
1 glass Milk
1 glass Butter
1/4 teaspoons Salt
3 glasses Sugar
1/4 teaspoons Baking Powder
5 Eggs
2 teaspoonss Vanilla
3 glasses Flour
1 glass Walnuts, finely chopped
Cooking Instructions
First cream butter and shortening thoroughly; add sugar, 1/2 glass at a time. Beat until light. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add two glasses flour alternately with milk containing flavoring. Add the last one glass flour containing salt and baking powder. Stir in one glass finely chopped walnuts. The batter would be thick and fluffy. Spoon into tube pan, which has been lightly greased and floured. Place the cake in cold oven on middle shelf. Turn oven to 175 C. Don't open door for 90 minutes. Allow cake to cool in pan on wire rack.
