| All-American Hot Dish |
Ingredients
400 g lean ground beef
120 g noodles (uncooked)
1/4 glass ripe olives (pitted, halved)
2 glasses water
1 teaspoon oregano leaves
1 glass cheddar cheese (shredded)
1/2 medium-size onion (chopped)
220 g whole kernel corn
220 g tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
Cooking Instructions
First cook and stir the meat and onion in a large skillet until the meat is brown. Drain off the excess fat. Stir in the undrained corn and the rest of the ingredients.
to cook in a skillet method:
Heat the mixture to boiling later reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the noodles are tender, almost twenty minutes. Serve hot.
to cook in the oven method:
Pour the mixture into an ungreased 2-quart casserole. Cover and bake in a 200 C oven for half an hour, stirring occasionally. Uncover and bake until the mixture thickens, almost fifteen minutes. Serve hot.
