Ingredients
1 glass yoghurt (plain)
1 glass sugar
1 egg (room temperature)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 glass semolina
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
Syrup:
3 glasses water
3 glasses sugar
1/2 lemon juice
16 almonds (peeled)
Cooking Instructions
First boil the syrup ingredients for fifteen minutes, put aside, let it cool down. Blend the yoghurt, sugar, egg and vanilla extract with a spoon until the sugar melts. Later add the semolina, flour and baking powder. Blend them using the spoon. Pour the batter into the oiled Pyrex dish. Assume it would be cut in 16 rectangle pieces, so arrange 16 almonds on top. Preheat the oven to 175 C and bake for almost one hour and fifteen minutes until it takes a golden color. Cut dessert into 16 equal rectangle pieces. Pour the cold syrup slowly all over. The syrup won’t be soaked completely, approximately one glass would be left. Sam dessert should be put aside for at least four hours before serving.
